For Chuck Taylor of PROTEUS Technologies, the technologies in greatest demand are multi-lingual computing, cloud computing, virtualization and database systems.  He was part of a Chesapeake Regional Technology Council panel that outlined what government agencies and contractors seek to implement the Dept. of Defense’s Base Realignment and Closure program.  Contributor Perri Nejib of Lockheed Martin added that cyber warfare means the battlefield is everywhere, which includes social networks that are new to the government.  Panelist Dick Bowers of Northrop Grumman encouraged attendees to research the customer, its mission, specific procurement processes and who controls the contracting vehicles before pitching products or services as a partner.  Jim Sprungle of TeleCommunication Systems made mention of his firm’s interest in partners that know the TCS product suite and what the company is doing on satellite projects for the government.

The event was sponsored by the Fort Meade Alliance whose chair Rosemary Budd of Booz Allen Hamilton served as moderator and noted that Fort Meade will grow to have about 90 tenant organizations by the Sept. 15, 2011 implementation deadline.
