For the four of you out there who read publications other than Arundel Business News, here are notable numbers from the Vocus State of the Media report for 2009:

• 293 newspapers went out of business
• 1,226 magazines failed
• 10,000 radio jobs were lost
• 100 television stations were affected by bankruptcy filings.
