STEVENSVILLE – Kentmorr EcoDredge has been contracted by the Maryland Environmental Service to begin a dredging project at Poplar Island in Talbot County.  Beginning next week the company will use its environment friendly dredge to move sand from the approaches to the island and then replenish the beach.  Poplar Island, once 1,100 acres before eroding to less than 10 in the 1990s, is a state-designated site for clean dredged material with the intention of restoring beaches and habitats.
