ANNAPOLIS – The City released its Sustainable Annapolis 2010 Scorecard showing an annual savings of more than $400,000 from the base year of 2006. The scorecard measures the City’s progress toward meeting its climate, environmental, economic and neighborhood sustainability goals that the City Council approved in adopting the 2009 Community Action Plan.
ANNAPOLIS – Among the conclusions from the Urban Land Institute report on the future of City Dock are the following:
- Transform from auto-dominated to pedestrian focused environment
- Create more water edge to enhance arrival experience
- Create a stand-alone oversight entity for Historic Downtown and City Dock
- Mixed-use redevelopment
- And like any good consulting, ULI notes the need for further study.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Solar project developer Distributed Sun LLC has begun providing solar power to the Hilton Hotel BWI Airport. The on-site power system generates nearly 60 megawatt hours of electric power per year, and will generate over two gigawatt hours over its lifetime.
GLEN BURNIE – First Potomac Realty Trust now holds the $8 million mortgage on Aviation Business Park, a property that is 12.5 percent leased to one tenant. While such a high vacancy rate may cause alarm among many, the company also announced a stock offering that raised more than $170 million.

LA PLATA – outsourceIT has acquired Galvin & Associates in a deal it hopes will add expertise in unified communications, VoIP telephony and network connectivity. This will complement outsourceIT’s existing managed services, infrastructure migration, virtualization, security and hosting.
ANNAPOLIS – The Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau received recognition from the Maryland Office of Tourism Development for its efforts in improving and promoting Maryland’s image as a travel destination through the use of new, innovative, and interactive media.
Annapolis, Md. – The Chesapeake Shores Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors has sent word that Pamela Volm has been elected to ABC’s National Executive Committee. The owner of Annapolis Contracting, she will represent members and chapters in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
