OWINGS MILLS – Developer Greenberg Gibbons announced plans to open a Restoration Hardware store at Annapolis Towne Centre this summer. The 8,000-square foot showroom will be a prototype for the store’s retail operations, which offer home furnishings, bed linens, lighting, hardware and bathroom accessories.
COLUMBIA – LPP Combustion has teamed up with several international partners to market its equipment that enables liquid fuels, such as naphtha, kerosene, diesel, biodiesel, or ethanol to be burned as cleanly as natural gas using natural gas combustion devices.
PASADENA – Five Buoys at Rock Creek will be developed into a market-rate community now that Koch Homes has purchased the site for $1,090,000 from the cryptically named 8641 Fort Smallwood, LLC, represented by The Hogan Companies. Originally approved as an active adult community, the property recently received the less restrictive plat approval.
GAMBRILLS – Two Farms Inc. acquired 1114 State Route 3 North, from The Marlene Long Trust for $4.5 million, or about $234 per square foot.
COLUMBIA – Among the awards given to Manekin, LLC by NAIOP-Maryland were the Best Office Single-Story Transaction for the property at 7321 Parkway Dr. South. The former DOD contractor facility in Hanover will be the site of the Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School. Manekin also received recognition for the best build-to-suit project for the Merkle headquarters, 7001 Columbia Gateway Dr. NAIOP is the association for developers, owners, investors and other professionals in industrial, office and mixed-use commercial real estate.
ANNAPOLIS – The Fort Meade Alliance has named Deon Viergutz of Lockheed Martin and Roger Waesche, Jr. of Corporate Office Properties Trust to its 25-member board.
ANNAPOLIS – Hollis Minor is the counselor for Anne Arundel County for the Maryland Small Business Development Center’s Central Region. One of four Central Region coaches, she will provide help small businesses with the challenges they face.
ANNAPOLIS – Take One Digital Media has been recognized with a 2010 Telly Award for its work with client New Ground Publishing. The winning entry was the video “Kayla’s Voice – Empowering People with Autism.” The Telly Awards honor local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, video and film productions, and work created for the Web.
COLUMBIA – The Environmental Systems Research Institute recently recognized Freedom Consulting Group with the 2010 Federal Business Partner of the Year Award for achievements in the areas of sales, ingenuity, creativity, and contributions to technological development.
WHITE PLAINS – The site of the first wind turbine at a commercial location is set for a groundbreaking next month behind The Prime Street Grille restaurant on Route 301 in Charles county. The event will take place on Thursday, May 27 at noon.
