LINTHICUM, Md. – Officials of Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Electronic Systems sector were on hand to open the new Northrop Grumman Innovation Institute, the focal point for the sector’s advanced technology development activities. The five-story, 156,000 square-foot leased building is home to more than 450 current engineers, scientists and support personnel.
BWI AIRPORT – Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport has broadened its agreement with FlightView to provide on the Web the flight tracking and weather data displayed on terminal screens.
ANNAPOLIS – Kaulkin Information Systems has launched the TrackHealth version of its KISTrack technology platform, which allows patients, practitioners and other medical stakeholders a way to more actively share electronic health records and monitor critical decisions. TrackHealth is a specialized version of the company’s KISTrack SaaS-Cloud computing workflow, data/document management, compliance and risk mitigation platform. Kaulkin is a resident of the Chesapeake Innovation Center.
GLEN BURNIE – Glen Burnie Bancorp/The Bank of Glen Burnie has declared a regular dividend of ten cents ($0.10) per share of common stock. This marks the company’s 70th consecutive dividend.

ANNAPOLIS – The city has finalized a deal to encourage property owners to improve energy efficiency in their buildings. Under the Annapolis Energy Zone program, building owners can finance energy improvements by attaching a loan to the property that is paid back through property taxes. Loans and the improvements transfer to new owners, so credit scores are not affected. The city expects to make 50 loans next year, and it provides a list of pre-approved auditors, installers and contractors.
LAUREL – The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory has licensed two patents to Genesis Electronics Group, Inc. that cover a compact power source that produces electricity from solar energy. The technology will be integrated into solar-powered chargers for cell phones and related hand-held electronic devices.
STEVENSVILLE – Stertil-Koni, the provider of heavy-duty lifts to the vehicle maintenance industry, has received notice from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office that the agency will look into the company’s claims of patent infringement against Gray Manufacturing. The claims are related to wireless lifting systems.
GREENBELT – IT services firm Presidio Networked Solutions has joined the Vblock partner ecosystem, a community of partners that can help customers make the transition to private “cloud computing” with integrated IT Infrastructures from Cisco, EMC and VMware.
COLUMBIA – BoxTone has started a Public Sector Practice designed for federal, state and local governments’ specific mobility requirements such as smartphone management, compliance and security. BoxTone also disclosed that it has crossed the threshold of 500,000 enterprise-connected BlackBerry smartphones that are managed, tracked and controlled by the BoxTone software suite.
