ELKRIDGE – GP Strategies Corporation announced that through a subsidiary it has acquired Milsom Industrial Designs Limited, a UK-based provider of technical documentation, technical publications, technical recruiting and engineering design services for aerospace and engineering companies.  GP strategies and its operating subsidiary offer sales and technical training, e-Learning solutions, management consulting and engineering services.

ANNAPOLIS – Network management provider Netcordia has established a partnership with Hitachi Data Systems to help mid-market companies with early identification of network problems.  Hitachi has integrated Netcordia’s NetMRI with its Hitachi IT Operations Analyzer version 1.2 to create an integrated infrastructure monitoring and management solution for companies with 100 – 1500 devices.

ANNAPOLIS – USGC, Inc. was awarded a contract by the Navy Military Sealift Fleet Support Command to help it maintain total force and human resource readiness, prepare an afloat workforce that meets readiness requirements and support a human capital strategy.  The contract could be worth up to $22 million if all extensions are used.

ANNAPOLIS – The Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau has launched a three-month interactive promotional campaign designed to highlight the attractions and experiences that are unique to Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay.  Wonders of the Chesapeake encourages visitors and area residents to submit their recommendations via an online video contest.  This is the sixth in a series of integrated seasonal promotions that the AAACCVB has initiated to enhance brand awareness for the destination and stimulate the local economy.

ANNAPOLIS – The City’s Department of Neighborhood and Environmental Programs announced a program under which hotels, retailers and office buildings can earn points toward an environmental stewardship certification.  At least 100 points must be earned in categories including energy efficiency improvements, water conservation and waste management. Certified businesses will be given Web site recognition, a certificate and a decal to display.

ODENTON – M&T Bank opened a full-service branch in Odenton at 1351 Blair Road in the Fort Meade Small Business Park.  This makes the second branch the bank has opened in Anne Arundel in the last six months and brings the statewide number of M&T branches to 260.
