ANNAPOLIS – Wireless technology provider TeleCommunication Systems has received a U.S. patent for “First Responder Wireless Emergency Alerting With Automatic Callback And Location Triggering.” This functionality will allow public service agencies to target emergency alert messages to specific first responders based on location and capability. 
 

ANNAPOLIS – OpenAmplify has opened an online community to drive innovation, collaboration and development for the Semantic Web. A Web service that can identify sentiment and guidance from text, OpenAmplify is allowing open access to its patented natural language processing technology with the aim of supporting the creation of application development, academic research and innovation. 
 

ANNAPOLIS – CBay Systems & Services has created a reseller partnership program under which independent resellers and distributors can market CBay’s medical transcription technology and services to physician practices nationwide. 
 

ANNAPOLIS – ICS Technologies and financial services firm Medallion Group are two new tenants in the Class A office space at 8221 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. Leasing agent Douglas Commercial is leasing the 10,000 square foot building that features retail services on the first floor.  
 

HANOVER – Conmed Healthcare Management, the provider of correctional facility healthcare services, is now operating in seven states with the finalizing of a multi-year agreement with Creek County, Oklahoma. The contract has a duration of one year with four one-year renewal options and is valued at $2.2 million.
 

LINTHICUM – Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems performed a successful demonstration of the U.S. Defense Department’s new Ground Based Fighter Radar (GBFR), a multi-mission ground tactical radar designed to provide on-the-move air defense capability to the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps. The demo at Aberdeen Proving Ground showed the efficacy of packaging a proven, 360-degree airborne radar into a compact, lightweight ground configuration operating on a single High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (aka a Humvee) while underway. 
 

GLEN BURNIE – The parent company of The Bank of Glen Burnie has announced a regular dividend of 10 cents per share of common stock. This marks the 68th consecutive dividend for Glen Burnie Bancorp. The bank also reported that it earned the 5-Star superior rating from bank researcher Bauer Financial Reports. This designation, the company’s 34th consecutive one, is based on capitalization, liquidity, loan delinquency rates and historical performance.
 

LINTHICUM – Telehouse Europe has deployed Ciena’s CN 4200 FlexSelect Advanced Services Platform at its data storage facility in Paris, France. The first purpose-built colocation provider in Europe, Telehouse Europe chose Ciena to enable network connectivity with the scalability and reliability needed to support worldwide customers. Separately, Ciena announced a new contract with GTS Central Europe for carrier ethernet service delivery. These solutions allow operators to offer carrier-class services while leveraging the simplicity and cost efficiency of Ethernet.
 

CENTREVILLE – Emory Properties has brought Murphy Commercial Real Estate aboard to lease the 80-acre mixed use development known as Centreville Business Park. The project includes a Class A office/condominium building and a flex/warehouse building.  
 

CAMBRIDGE – The Fort Meade Regional Partnership collected the Regionalism Award for becoming a one-stop BRAC-related resource for multiple jurisdictions, newcomers and businesses around Fort Meade. Bestowed by The Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA), the Partnership was recognized for its contribution to the region’s economic development, its innovation and creativity and its impact on the region’s economy. MEDA also honored two former leaders of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation: William “Bill” Badger, vice president for government banking at M&T Bank, and Rick Morgan, president and CEO of CommerceFirst Bank; both were named MEDA Life Members.
