ANNAPOLIS – Encore Construction performed the general contractor services for Zoës Kitchen at Annapolis Towne Centre. This is the fourth Mid-Atlantic project Encore has done for the fast causal Greek-influenced restaurant concept.
ELLICOTT CITY – The Greens at Locust Chapel claims its status as the first residential community in Howard to receive the County’s “Green Neighborhood” designation. The community meets guidelines for open green space, water conservation management, minimal-impact construction materials, energy efficient appliances, fixtures and advanced ventilation techniques.
BALTIMORE – St. John Properties has promoted Sean Doordan to assistant vice president of leasing. Doordan will continue his focus on Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties.
ANNAPOLIS – Clean Wind Energy Tower has filed for a patent entitled Active/Adaptive Building Structural Components. The application covers building architecture involving lightweight structural components with adaptive parts that can change shape when needed to endure thermal expansion, contraction, wind loads and seismic activity.
ANNAPOLIS – The National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing and Care Industry is working with researcher Real Capital Analytics to provide the senior housing industry with improved transaction data and analytical reports. The effort is designed to facilitate investment decisions.
ANNE ARUNDEL – Real Estate Business Intelligence has released May figures showing that home sales in Anne Arundel were down almost 15% from last year at this time, although median prices edged up 6%. Asking prices were down a hair at less than 2%, and homes were on the market an average of 109 days (a little more than last year). In Howard, selling prices were up 3% and homes were on the market for 88 days.
COLUMBIA – Fortress International Group has been awarded a $16 million design-build contract to construct a data center for a staffing solutions company in Maryland. It is expected to be completed by next May.

The Willow awards, honoring exceptional women in multiple categories, were presented by Andy Cheezum, Jr. of Willow Construction and Faith Tennent, ABC Chesapeake Shores President/CEO.
ANNAPOLIS – The Hogan Companies has completed the sale of The Residences at River Marsh, a 357-unit residential waterfront, golf course community surrounding the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina, in Cambridge. The purchaser is a partnership between Crimson Partners of Herndon, Virginia and The Bernstein Companies of Washington, DC.
ANNAPOLIS – Chesapeake Lodging Trust has acquired the 368-room W Chicago – City Center for $128.8 million. The hotel will continue to be managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts under the W flag.
