ANNAPOLIS – Associated Builders & Contractors Chesapeake Shores has issued its annual Excellence in Construction, STEP & Safety Awards for 2011, which includes Willow Construction, LLC, winner of the Gold STEP award (ABC’s National Safety Training and Evaluation Process). Willow Construction also earned a Safety Award in the category of General Contractors between 80,000 and 159,999 man hours.

MARYLAND – Real Estate Business Intelligence reports that volume and average prices are slightly higher in Anne Arundel than they were at this time last year, but the average 116 days on the market for a listing is about 9% less than it was.  Numbers for Howard County were a little worse except that properties spent only 93 days on the market on average.

ANNAPOLIS – Magnolia Landing is approved for 112 active adult lots following the property’s sale to a local Calvert County investment partnership for $1,250,000.  Hogan Companies represented seller Griffin Realty.

ANNAPOLIS – The Hogan Companies has sold a 4.87-acre parcel to Koch Homes, which will develop the land along with an adjacent 12-acre tract into a townhouse community.  The site is located off Brock Bridge Road near Whiskey Bottom Road in Laurel.

COLUMBIA – Even though there were no local winners, the proprietor of the 2011 MetLife Foundation Awards for Excellence in Affordable Housing has a flag planted here and gets credit for putting on the event that recognizes best practices in green, service-enriched housing for low-income seniors. Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. recognized four winners that will receive grant funds of $50,000 each to expand their work.  Enterprise and MetLife Foundation started the program in 1996.

CROFTON – Gardiner Realty and Development Company has received two Co-Star Power Broker awards, which spotlight the firm and individual brokers who closed the highest transaction volume in 2010.  For the second time, the “Top Industrial Leasing Broker” was Gerald “Jerry” Morgan, Jr.
